LINGUISTIC AND SEMANTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF PROVERBS WITH THE CONCEPT OF FRIENDSHIP AND ENMITY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK

The linguistic and semantic properties of proverbs including the concepts of friendship and enmity are the focus of this essay. This article aims to define proverbs as clever and melodious sayings that have imagery, rhythm, and "patterns of thought" reflected in them. Regardless of country, everyone has comparable experiences, and there are several proverbs that are applicable everywhere. The author has made an effort to look into the ways in which proverbs can be used to support our positions, make generalizations, control or influence others, explain away our own failings, challenge accepted norms, mock social evils, and make light of absurd circumstances.
