COGNITIVE APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF PROVERBS

The study of proverbs from a cognitive perspective can contribute to understanding which knowledge structures are of paramount importance for society, because the proverbial fund is essentially a fragment of cultural traditions. The text of proverbs and sayings hides cultural information; it crystallizes national history, social system, way of life, human relations, and worldview.
